Frindle is a word that Nick makes up. Instead of calling a pen by the proper name, he begins to call pens Frindles. Soon all of the kids at school start using the word. Then kids across the country start calling pens Frindles. The only problems are teachers and parents who are not very appreciative of Nick’s creativity.
